Big Family

I have a big family and it keeps getting bigger.  It's awesome.  In fact, I love having a big family so much, I'm tempted to have ten children of my own.

Except for that whole pregnancy thing, daycare cost thing, raising-them thing, paying for college thing...yeah, not really.  I'm totally lying.  I have no intention of having a ton of kids.  I do, however, like being one of several kids and now, several spouses.  Christmas is super merry and festive and really?  Everything it's supposed to be.

The annual Christmas picture, this year actually taken on Christmas Eve.

Also, this family is about to get bigger yet.  NO, I am not pregnant, thanks for asking.  However, Marissa IS and I am so so excited.  First off, Marissa is a rad pregnant woman.  She is still skiing and doing pretty much everything she did pre-pregnancy, which earns her an A+ in my book.  The girl refuses to let the whole "I'm going to have a baby" thing slow her down.  I love her.  Second, Hazel is going to have a cousin!  How cool is that?  The two cousins can chase each other down the ski slope while the adults have a cocktail in the lodge.

Oh, did I say that out loud?

Ailey shows off her...cat?  Ritchie pretends he's not married to her.

A little Christmas love between an elf and his mom.

We did all the traditional Christmas things- dinner, gifts, church, drinks, more food.  Then we all went to sleep in the same house for the first time in years.  I think my mom died and went to heaven.

The Hizz checks out the "YIGHTS!" on the tree.

On Christmas morning, around 11am, we had British-style breakfast, courtesy of Ailey and Ritchie and then we all returned to the stairs AS IF we had just come down from bed.  Nate brought his beer, because he apparently awakens in the morning with beer at his bedside.  Smart man.

Some traditions never change.

Santa was generous this year, filling everyone's stockings with all kinds of goodies and bringing Hazel more toys than she could even imagine.  Recession?  For toddlers, there is no such thing.

And in the Kaiser household, which just keeps filling up with people, I guess it's kind of a meaningless word anyway.  See, we may have less money in certain years, but we have enough people around to ease your pain...and to eat with and drink with and play Wii with and shoot the shit with and cook with and escape from and, really, just to be with.

Merry Christmas.
