Oops

Today, I bring you a photo essay of sorts of a casual Barker Sunday.

We were supposed to be camping but I came down with a stomach virus on Saturday which led to this. An easy family hike at Mill Creek on Sunday.

This guy thinks hiking is soooooo easy.

On this hike, we did our best to examine every single ant hill. Hazel clearly demonstrated her distaste for ants.

The living is easy when you're a baby and you can't walk.

Views from Mill Creek inspired stories of castles, princesses and fairy tales. I believe this particular castle belonged to Princess Ariel.

The Queen and the Princess themselves.

Nature was abundant, including a pair of "dancing" butterflies.

Afterwards, everyone decided to head up to Lake Irwin for some paddleboarding until...

Uh. OOPS.

Wait. That doesn't look so bad.

Here's another view. It was bad.

This is what happens when you try to do the polite thing and pull over so the oncoming truck (which was actually an ambulance converted in to a camper and was SO COOL) can pass. Multiple passersby tried to help to no avail. The first professional tow attempt was a fail. The second professional tow attempt was a success. Barely. To hear the driver tell it, "Oh yeah. You were about to roll over."

But we didn't. Hazel thought it was an adventure. Tygh could have cared less and spent the ride back to Gunnison, which happened to be in the converted ambulance, smiling and talking nonsense. Brian spent the entire day trying to rescue the truck. And I just laughed. You know why?

Because I wasn't driving when this happened. Which means I don't have to hear about until the end of eternity.

Score one for me.
