I started off the cyclocross season by not racing. That's right. I didn't race. I just watched Barkernews kick ass and I worked on being a Cat A cheerleader.
I am a pretty rad cheerleader when I don't have to worry about racing later in the day. In fact, I am probably one of the best. How do I know this?
After the race, a couple guys came up to me and thanked me profusely for motivating them to work harder.
See? I rock.
So, why didn't I race? Well, cheering is exhausting. For real. It's a JOB. Second, Barkernews had to work at noon. And lastly, I just didn't want to. It had only been two weeks since Eugene and I was tired. I didn't have the bug to race, even though Pain 'n Sufferin' on the Peak is usually a good race for me.
As I am learning, if you don't have the bug to race AND you feel tired, it's best to lay low. Besides, I can put that $25 towards a massage anyway, right?
That said, I was *slightly* more motivated to race after cheering on Barkernews. I think this cyclocross season will be a fun one.
Demonstrating what pain and suffering look like.
Barkernews: Oh god, I might die. Hazel: Do you want to play with me now, Daddy?
